USA Wrestling, in conjunction with Anthony Travel, has organized an exciting package tour for fans, family and friends to attend the 2005 World Championships of Wrestling in Budapest, Hungary, Sept. 24-Oct. 3.
This tour will allow the wrestling community to attend the World Championships for any or all of the three Olympic styles, as well as experience the culture of world-respected Budapest.
The tour includes many options, from full service to just a hotel package. Packages can include roundtrip airfare from New York to Budapest, accommodations for seven nights at a three-star hotel located near the competition arena, breakfast daily, a traditional Hungarian dinner, and a one-day city sight-seeing tour.
“We are excited about providing a better experience for our fans, family and friends,” said USA Wrestling National Teams Director Mitch Hull.
Also included in the tour are airport transfers, daily morning transfer to the Laszlo Papp Sportaren (venue for World Championships), a Budapest card (valid for public transportation and entrance to 60 museums), as well as on-site assistance from local staff members.
Prices are $1,725 for a single, $1,635 for a double, $1,565 for a triple and $1,545 for a quad. All prices are based upon adult occupancy in the room and are tax inclusive. Competition ticket prices are not yet released, but will be available to add to packages.
“With all three styles being held together at the World Championships, this gives people the opportunity to watch any and all of the weight classes and style which they like,” said Hull. “In addition, it is a beautiful city, and there are opportunities to visit other locations while fans are there. This goes well beyond what we have been able to offer in the past.”
The United States is a world wrestling power in all three international styles: men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle and men’s Greco-Roman wrestling. The U.S. team has high expectations for the World Championships this year. Many U.S. wrestling fans have attended past World Championships, but this new package makes the trip both convenient and affordable to so many more people.
