Things are heating up in the search for a new coach at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The Mocs are looking for a coach to replace Terry Brands, who resigned his position on April 4 to become resident freestyle coach at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Interviews have been scheduled for Chris Bono, assistant head coach at Iowa State; Lou Rosselli, assistant head coach at Edinboro; Joe Seay, former head coach at Oklahoma State; and Steve Hamilton, current assistant coach at UTC.
The first interview will be this evening with Seay. Bono is coming in Thursday, Rosselli is coming in May 12 and Hamilton is scheduled for May 13.
After all candidates are interviewed, recommendations will be forwarded to UTC athletic director, Steve Sloan.
“The committee’s goal is to be able to make an offer and announce UTC’s new head wrestling coach by the first of the following week,” says Nancy Noblit, assistant vice chancellor of development and a former fundraiser for the UTC athletics department.
