Two-time All-American wrestler may receive second chance

If everything goes as planned, 133-pound senior Chris Fleeger will be eligible to wrestle for Purdue once fall semester grades are released.

Fleeger finished third as a freshman and second as a sophomore at the NCAA Wrestling Championships before becoming academically ineligible after the fall 2004 semester. He is waiting on final word from the NCAA about his eligibility. Fleeger took an Olympic redshirt in 2003 attempting to qualify for the 2004 Olympic Games.

Upon his return, Fleeger will join a team that sent five wrestlers to the national tournament in 2004. He will be eligible to wrestle in all Big Ten dual meets and in the national tournament
