CMU Wrestlers Romp by Penn, 34-3
No. 14 Chippewas win 9-of-10 matches.

MOUNT PLEASANT — No. 14-ranked Central Michigan University won 9-of-10 matches en route to a convincing 34-3 wrestling win over No. 22 Pennsylvania here Friday night.
CMU is now 2-1 while the Quakers fall to 1-1.
Redshirt freshman Eric Neil got the Chippewa express rolling with a 24-9 technical fall at 157 pounds and senior David Bolyard followed up with a 19-6 major decision at 165.
The Chippewas won the first eight straight matches, highlighted by senior Alex Lammer’s pin at 184 in 4:10.
CMU redshirt freshman Wynn Michalk, unranked at 197, upset No. 16 Marcus Schontube, 9-6, while No. 11 senior Bill Stouffer tripped No. 4 Matt Feast, 6-4, in overtime in their heavyweight tussle.
The lone Quaker win came at 141 when No. 14 Doug McGraw upped his record to 6-0 for the season with a 4-2 win over Chippewa redshirt freshman Brandon Carter. McGraw won on a reversal in the final moments and collected a riding time point for his two-point decision.
CMU idle idle until competing in the Wendy’s Classic in Ashland, Ohio on Jan. 16. The Chippewas will meet Ashland, Cleveland State, and Purdue.
