Karlos went 4-0 today. All wins by pin with zero points scored against him. The only match that even made it to the second period was a tech pin. He even wrestled up to 120 against a 118 pounder (he’s all the way down to 109.4 as of this morning), didn’t matter, pinned him in the first period.
Even greater than his performance on the mat, was the Pisgah team’s performance off of it. After the meet one of the table workers came up to me and said that he had run into our kids in the hall. The guy went on and on about how polite and respectable the kids were. He told me how half the time he can’t wait for the kids to leave because they’re such jerks, especially the kids that are good wrestlers, but how our kids were dominating on the mats (I think as a team we lost only 5 matches all day) yet were still polite and without attitude off the mat.
Today I am a proud Papa for sure.
