CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Former University of Michigan All-America A.J. Grant has been named assistant wrestling coach at the University of North Carolina, Tar Heel head coach C.D. Mock announced Monday. Grant is a part-time assistant with the Tar Heels, working with the lightweights on technique and training. He is also working part-time with Irwin Tools, a division of Rubbermaid.
“We are very pleased to have A.J. Grant working with the program, “said Mock, who is in his second season as UNC head coach. “He was an intense competitor at the University of Michigan and has accomplished what many of our guys are working for. He brings a dimension of youth to our coaching staff and will work primarily with our lightweights. He has already had an impact.”
