Cowboys Defeat Hofstra, 30-10

The dual was never in doubt as Oklahoma State (19-0) won five of the first six matches from Hofstra (11-5) to build a 19-4 advantage.
The key match was at 297 with OSU leading 10-4, top ranked Jake Rosholt wrestled second-ranked Chris Skretkowicz into the third period. Skretkowicz got a reversal that put Rosholt on his back for a two-point near fall to take a 5-4 lead in the match. Rosholt got the four points back, however, with a reversal and a two-point near fall of his own to win the match.
Mocco followed Rosholt with a first period fall to put the Pokes on top 19-4. Hofstra came right back won the next two matches, including an upset by Charles Griffin over Nathan Morgan at 133.
The Cowboys closed out the dual strong at 141 and 149. Daniel Frishkorn racked up seven first period points against seventh-ranked Ricky LaForge. Frishkorn began to sense that he had LaForge in trouble, and kept him on his back in the second period. Frishkorn ended the match early in the third period with a three-point near fall to put him up 17-2.
Zack Esposito closed out the dual with a fall over ninth-ranked Jon Masa. Esposito jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the first period, and put Masa on his back to start the second period. Esposito got the fall just 33 seconds into the period.
The Cowboys will drive to Bethlehem, Pa., for a dual against fourth-ranked Lehigh at 5 p.m. in front of a sell out crowd at Stabler Arena.
