Two-time Greater Catholic League champion Moeller headlines the league meet Saturday at Moeller.
The Crusaders return to action after a three-day stretch of wrestling last week that included wins over St. Xavier (Thursday) and Lakota East (Friday). Moeller went to Lakewood St. Edward and lost 39-25 to Blair Academy (N.J.), ranked No. 1 in several national polls, before defeating Bergen Catholic (N.J.).
Seniors Nate Kmetz (160) and Charles Quehl (215), juniors Alex Weaver (103) and Eric Cameron (171) and sophomores Mike Mahon (152) and Frank Becker (275) won matches against Blair.
“This week is always a big week for us, “Moeller coach Jeff Gaier said.
Moeller won more individual matches (six) than it ever had won against Blair in five meetings.
“That type of competition should pay off in a few weeks at the state tournament, “Gaier said.
Moeller has won 11 of the past 12 league meets. The event begins at 10 a.m.
