Guys we know the rules weren’t explained enough and this is a result of the fire we had. We planned on showing every second of the quarterfinal round matches and there we explained the rules much more in detail. After the fire, we had to shorten the episodes to 9 and the quarterfinals became highlights. We either had to drop matches to insert other things or drop some of the explanation moments.
We have all our rules explained on this website. We’ll put a link to them off the home page to make them easier to find. We also are trying to make room for more rule explanations in the show.
Undertand this, all other pro leagues have lots of dead time in their sports to talk about things like rules etc. Even then they only deal with very technical issues because everybody already knows basic basketball, football, baseball rules. People learn the rules over time as kids.
Wrestling has a much harder job then these other sports. Most adults want everything laid out simple and organized and this is okay. However, we don’t have lots of dead time with which to do this. As it is we are showing 49 matches in 9 hours.
The number one thing people say about wrestling is that it is boring. Our number one job here at RPW is to show that it is not. Once people see the intensity and action, the next question they have is what are the rules. Once they learn the rules, they then further appreciate what they see.
I think we have done a good job with the first point. The matches were exciting and there was plenty of action. In the coming weeks it only gets better.
We know we put a twist on things and changed many ideas of what people thought wrestling was. It will take people time to get comfortable with the new look. However, we have stayed true to our core. It was real wrestling, real competition, and real entertainment.
I am amazed how people are over analyzing everything like what the ref wears, the fighter shorts, the colors, etc. Many of the things people suggest we already are planning to do. However there are reasons why we have not been able to do it yet.
For example, in the future the format will be all different. Only duels. Also teams will have home and away uniforms. This will prevent the shorts being too similar. This is something all other pro sports do.
Also, if somebody here on this forum has questions about the rules, it is pretty tough to take them seriously when we have eight articles posted on this website explaining them in detail. This website is the proper tool for this and is an extension of the show.
That is why we put our website address up during the broadcast. We realize people will have questions and we tell them where the answers are. I know it would be better if we could answer all the questions right on the show and we are working on this. But work with us a little here.
We appreciate everybody’s interest and feedback and don’t want to discourage it. Just be aware that we cannot respond to every little thing and that most things we are aware of. For the couple people who are jerks, well – we won’t waste our time with them. We’ll let you all hound them out of here. Just keep it civil.
