Former Davison High wrestling standout Chase Metcalf is doing well according to his brother, Brent, after suffering a seizure Saturday night during the individual state wrestling finals at The Palace.
Chase, the 2002 Davison graduate who won two individual state titles before wrestling at the University of Michigan, joined Davison as an assistant coach this season.
“He’s doing all right, “said Brent, who finished 228-0 with his fourth title shortly after his brother was taken by ambulance to Genesys Regional Medical Center, where he was this morning.
“He’s in the hospital and they’re running tests to find out how the seizure happened. The doctor said it could be from a lot of things. It could be from stress. He hurt his neck in practice last week and it could have something to do with that.
“He’s in acute care. He can eat all the food he wants. They just have to keep him there for tests. I think he will be home (today).”
